Toronto Developer Delays Alberta Condos Amid Oil Crunch
Lamb Development Corp. is delaying construction of two condominium projects in Alberta as the slump in the price of oil guts jobs and housing demand. The 36-story Jasper House and 45-story North will be delayed at least a year.

There are some supportive economic indicators that suggest Edmonton's downtown boom is going to continue unabated. The recent oil pipelines approved by the Feds and the likelihood that the oil pipeline through the U.S. to Louisiana from Wood Buffalo will get picked up by the Trump administration bodes well for Alberta in the short term. That, plus a strong focus around Rogers Place as an Edmonton-centric economic driver for downtown will keep things popping at a brisk pace. I believe Lamb keenly understands all of this.

Hasn't been much in terms of real renders for this. Hopefully they show some of those at the presentation!

Additional Information You are invited to a Public Open House to discuss a proposed rezoning at 10305 and 10321 - 106 Street NW, Downtown, known as “North Tower.”

The proposed change in zoning is from the (UW) Urban Warehouse Zone to a (DC2) Site Specific Development Control Provision. The proposed DC2 Provision would provide the opportunity for a primarily residential tower with the following features:

- 126 metres in height (approximately 40 storeys);
- Up to 320 Dwellings;
- Floor Area Ratio of 11.0; and
- All parking provided underground.

The application also proposes to amend maps within the Downtown Special Area of the Edmonton Zoning Bylaw which indicate maximum height and floor area ratio.

The City is looking for your input on the proposed rezoning.
