Which drone did you end up getting? Is it one with a built in camera, or can you integrate a Go Pro or something onto it?

It's the DJI Phantom 3 Standard, it comes with a camera built into it already. It turns out the camera is pretty much the same as the Go Pro (made by the same people and same specs). The Phantom 3 Advanced and Pro have some extra features, and the Phantom 4 has its own radar. If I had the money, I'd buy that one, but a bit much for me. Phantom 3 Standaard is around $650.00 CDN, and the Phantom 4 is around $2k CDN

@Daveography I think it depends what you want to use it for. My flying will be mostly in nature type areas over the long term, and hopefully some work taking aerials for people. In the short term will probably be mostly city and construction shots (while the regulations are loose). I have a feeling that eventually, flying in the city will be very limited. Some places have banned flying in the city unless you get a permit.

My guess is that down the road people who want to use a drone in the city will have to apply for permission if they have a specific need for it.

Here's a little email update on construciton from Bel Calgary Inc.:

"Construction is really moving quickly at 6th & Tenth. We are currently pouring the 21st floor with window installation at the 13th floor. The building should be topped off by early November. Based on our Construction Schedule, we are expecting the building to be completed by March 2017. We are very confident that 6th & Tenth is going to be a spectacular piece of architecture and design."

Another view from the Centennial Parkade. Sorry about the strong reflections. I suppose my gripe with it at this point is that, from a distance, the siding kinda looks like cheap black plastic. I'm hopeful that it will present a bit better as it approaches completion.

I thought the same thing, but I'm hopeful that when the balcony glass and railings are up it'll look better. :)

Agree. From further, and in photos as I've mentioned before where you can see bends in the panels, it doesn't look top quality. Much different impression though when you get real close to it, has a very slick modern appeal in my opinion. And quality looks better up close. I don't know if it is an optical illusion or what but can't explain it.

I love the way this building looks from the south side. There's something about those continuous balconies that really appeal to me.
