Edmonton Arena Corp. and City of Edmonton sue Rogers Place architects for $4.7 million
The Edmonton Arena Corp. and the City of Edmonton have filed a $4.7-million lawsuit against the architects who designed Rogers Place.

A statement of claim filed earlier this month on behalf of the partners behind the nearly completed downtown arena alleges more than two dozen errors and omissions in the design by HOK Architects Corp. and 360 Architecture, a firm purchased by HOK. The architecture firm is known for designing sports facilities such as the Columbus Nationwide Arena.

Edmonton Arena Corp. (EAC), owned by the Katz Group, which also owns the Edmonton Oilers, and the city say it cost $4.7 million to correct the alleged design flaws. The court document says EAC and the city agreed to a guaranteed maximum price for construction costs and if they had known about cost overruns, they would have taken steps to mitigate or offset the increases.

It's kind of funny that the old painted sign on the brick building has a similar font to the watermark. I thought it WAS the watermark initially.
