Though a slipping energy sector has cast doubts on future growth, dozens of new developments are in various stages of planning, approvals, and construction in the city of Edmonton, the capital of Canada's oil-rich western province, Alberta. Among the many projects currently under construction, the Dialog Architects-designed Kelly Ramsey Tower is now over two thirds of the way towards its final height of 29 storeys in Downtown Edmonton, with curtain wall cladding reaching up to the 13th floor of the office and hotel tower.

The modern glass tower rises from the rebuilt Kelly Ramsey building, which was gutted by arson in 2009 before being torn down in 2013 to make way for the new development. The beautiful red brick and masonry facade of the historic property is now in the process of being recreated in almost the exact location, covering the podium levels of the new tower.

Slated for completion in 2016, the Kelly Ramsey tower is aiming for LEED Gold Certification. Among the tenants confirmed for the tower are KPMG, Field Law, Parlee McLaws LLP, and Enbridge.
