In the course of our daily reporting, we often uncover unusual projects, places, or connections that don't make the final cut. Instead of keeping it to ourselves, we're pleased to share our daily architrivia.

Apparently we all missed the memo about 432 Park's unusual inspiration, because a quick Google search taught us that it was all over the news in June 2014. In case you missed it too, let us be the first to tell you that Viñoly was inspired by a very expensive trash can. While putting together our latest photo update about the project, we learned that Josef Hoffman's work (and this wastepaper basket in particular) heavily influenced the supertall tower's design.
