The crane has risen at the corner of René-Lévesque Boulevard and Jeanne-Mance Street in Montreal for a new hotel and residential tower. Developed by Canvar and designed by Geiger Huot Architectes, the 37-storey AC Marriott will contain a hotel on the first 12 floors followed by rental units above.

Canvar recently completed Marriott Courtyard, a similar tower in Montreal with a residential and hotel mix. That building joins yet another hotel project by Canvar, Holiday Inn Montreal, located on René-Lévesque Boulevard.

Construction photos submitted to our Forum by user skahhigh show progress at the site since September. Skahhigh also captured photos showing the installation of the tower crane on October 27, a sure sign that the development is ready to start moving upwards.
