Since topping off at a height of 444 feet / 135 metres earlier this year, the installation of cladding has made steady progress at Chicago's 41-storey MILA development. Named for its position at the intersection of N Michigan Avenue and Lake Street, the tower stands just west of the famous 24.5-acre Millennium Park.

Thanks to new photos submitted to the SkyriseCities Forum by contributor harryc, we can see that a reflective curtain wall cladding now covers much of the bKL Architecture-designed tower. At street level, glazing will soon seal off the two-storey, 22,000 square foot retail space on the occupying the building's Michigan Avenue frontage, while also concealing the parking garage.

Elsewhere on the building's podium, cladding installation is well under way for the Lake and Garland frontages.

Developed by The John Buck Company in partnership with Partners Group and Becker Ventures, the new apartment tower will add 402 rental units to Chicago's Loop. Residents will have access to ample amenity spaces, including an outdoor rooftop pool and sundeck offering views of the surrounding cityscape.
