A pair of 18-storey buildings in Downtown Vancouver have reached their final height. Developed by the prolific Concord Pacific, One Pacific is situated steps away from BC Place, Rogers Arena and the vibrant Yaletown neighbourhood.
With over 400 units inside, the complex contains a number of amenity spaces to keep residents busy. A riviera deck and spa complete with a heated pool slightly jutting out over the edge is surrounded by lounge seating and cabanas. A grand dining hall, fireside lounge, catering kitchen, and games area are provided, in addition to a sky garden which includes an outdoor kitchen and dining area, children's play area, and community gardens.
The units themselves come equipped with a double-sided fireplace, a choice of four colour palettes, and ceiling heights rising to eight and a half feet. In the kitchen, stainless steel Miele appliances are accented by wood veneer cabinets and a quartz countertop.
Recent photos from Forum contributor mcminsen show the buildings topped out and almost fully clad. The wavy facade is meant to mimic the waterfront, according to architects IBI Group. The steel and concrete frame where the cantilevered pool will be located is easily visible in the image below.
One Pacific is the first development of Concord Pacific's masterplanned False Creek Central community, which will eventually bring over 1,000 units in eight buildings to the area. Built on former Expo ’86 lands, the new community will be the largest development in the city since the Olympic Village was constructed for the 2010 Winter Games. A fitness centre, cafe, restaurant, and grocer are just some of the retail outlets expected to occupy the 90,000 square feet of commercial space that will be available.
