Located just south of Downtown Calgary in the vibrant Beltline neighbourhood, a 36-storey condominium by Embassy Bosa has started construction. The Royal's 223 units will be housed within a glass structure which will become the tallest building in Mount Royal Village.

The development spans an entire city block and will be anchored by a 27,000-square-foot grocery store at the corner of 16 Ave SW and 8 St SW. Residents of the building will become members of Club Royal, which offers 10,000 square feet of amenity space including a fitness room, sauna, squash court, lounge, private dining room, and outdoor garden.

Photos posted to our Forum by Surrealplaces show the excavation pit for the project has nearly bottomed-out. The crane will soon be installed so the building can begin its climb above the street.

Units feature floor-to-ceiling windows, stainless steel Bosch appliances, wide-plank laminate hardwood in the kitchen and living areas, and heated bathroom floors. Smaller studio units will be included in the base of the building. One-bedroom and two-bedroom suites at around 600 and 1,000 square feet respectively are also being offered.
