Just a few blocks southwest of Place-des-Arts Station on the Montreal Metro, construction is progressing at the site of The Benvenuto Group's Le Peterson, a 31-storey, NEUF architect(e)s-designed condominium tower in the city's Quartier des Spectacles. The project has grown significantly over the past several months, and the speed of work increased in November upon completion of the complex five-storey podium levels and the start of the repetitive tower floor layouts above.

In the weeks since, the undulating curves of the tower's floorplates have become apparent from numerous angles, most notably from the base of the structure on Rue de la Concorde. This design element of ribbon-like balconies is being hailed as the first of its kind in Montreal, a city that is beginning to embrace more daring architectural aesthetics.

The development will boast a number of energy efficiency measures, including low-E (emissivity) coated windows, energy saving lighting, and eco-friendly plumbing fixtures with water saving features. Once construction of the development wraps up next year, residents of the building's 250 units will have access to a selection of amenities on the 25th floor of the tower, including a three-storey terrace with views overlooking the surrounding Montreal cityscape.
