With the building's four-storey base now largely structurally complete, the first signs on the set-back tower floors are appearing at the site of developer Tridel's Ten York Street Condos. The 65-storey, Wallman Architects-designed condominium tower under construction in Toronto's burgeoning South Core — a southerly mixed-use extension of the city's soaring Financial District — will eventually rise to a height of 735 feet (224 metres), and will hold a prominent position on the city's ever-changing skyline.

The development occupies a narrow site bounded by York Street to the east, the Gardiner Expressway to the north, and its Yonge-Bay-York off-ramp (slated to be demolished in the near future) to the south. The now fully formed podium levels will be the site of the porte-cochère and garage entrance, as well as residential amenities including a fitness centre, theatre, party room, and an outdoor amenity deck with a swimming pool. The triangular swimming pool can now be seen at the westernmost tip of the podium's upper level in the image below, identifiable by its black waterproof liner.

The image above also reveals that work is now underway on the first of the building's tower floors above the eastern half of the podium. Set back from the podium structure on all sides, the tower will take the form of a less-pronounced wedge, and will be clad in a combination of curtain wall glass and finished metal.

The smaller footprint and repetitive floorplans of the development's tower floors will allow the concrete forming process to progress rapidly in the coming months as workers develop a rhythm. An overview of the tower floorplate in contrast with the podium is included below.

Once complete, the development will further densify the area with the addition of 725 new condominium units.
