It has been almost two months since we last checked in on Manulife Real Estate's 707 Fifth Street, a 27-storey office tower under construction in downtown Calgary. At the time of our last update, the first signs of exterior cladding had recently been spotted on the building's steel skeleton, and the concrete tower core was well on its way to a final height of 124 metres (408 feet).

In the months since our last update, the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill-designed development has climbed higher into the city skyline, while it's exterior envelope consisting primarily of a glazed triple-pane curtain wall system has become much more apparent to passersby at street level.

The development will put tenants in close proximity to transit, with both C-Train and bus stops situated within steps of the main entrance. Cycling will be encouraged with the inclusion of 132 bike parking spaces, while pedestrians will be able to access the tower via Calgary's Plus 15 skybridge network. For tenants wishing to drive to and from work, five levels of underground parking will be included.
