When we last checked in on the progress at the new Apple Campus in California, the curved floors of the spaceship-like structure were taking form. Since then, the ring-shaped building has topped out and work on the accompanying structures is continuing. The Cupertino facility, located within the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Area and just one mile east of the current Apple headquarters, will eventually house 12,000 workers in a 2.8-million-square-foot space.

Videographer Duncan Sinfield has been providing monthly updates capturing the facility's construction with his drone. The largest curved glass panels in the world have arrived and are now appearing on the main Foster + Partners-designed structure while the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on the roof are being covered with large plates. An arrangement of solar photovoltaic panels will serve as the final skin for the rooftop.

The installation of white-finned sunshades, which will be affixed to each floor's full circumference, has also begun. These elements double as crucial components of the building's fresh air ventilation system, which will provide a comfortable atmosphere for workers year round.

The project's 1,000-seat underground auditorium received its metal crown in February, gracefully topping the glass-clad structure. The auditorium will be the space where many of Apple's iconic product launches will be held. A quick flyover by Duncan Sinfield shows how construction of the small circular structure has evolved in just five days.

Two elongated parking garages, a fitness centre, a cafe, and 600,000 square feet of research facilities will be included within the sprawling property. A vast assembly of greenery, including orchards of fruit trees, supplement a network of walking paths that intersect the site. When complete in 2017, the scene will be a significant departure from the previously asphalt-covered property that caught the eye of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs in 2011.
