Seven months after the completion of Langham Developments Limited's 28-storey first phase of Fox Towers in Edmonton, the podium levels are taking shape for the development's taller 33-storey second phase on 104th Street. Excavation for the site commenced back in mid-2015 and was completed by September 2015. In the subsequent months, the first four levels of the KENNEDY-designed development's five-storey brick-clad podium have been poured, with rebar in place for the fifth floor's support columns.

The podium levels are an extension of the existing podium that forms the base of the first phase tower. The podium was designed to create a contextual relationship with the surrounding built form of the area, and will include a selection of ground floor retailers to create an animated pedestrian experience.

The project is situated on a highly walkable stretch of 104th Street featuring a pedestrian promenade, which has received acclaim as one of 'Canada's Great Streets.' Located in proximity to an LRT line and surrounded by a wealth of retail and restaurants, the immediate vicinity boasts a near-perfect Walkscore of 98/100.

Once complete in 2017, Fox 2 will bring 169 residential units to 104th Street, with sizes ranging from 654 square feet up to 2,400 square feet, and will be available in one- to three-bedroom configurations.
