At the intersection of 4th Street SE and 7th Avenue SE in Calgary's East Village, construction continues to make progress on the topped-off 14-storey EV Hilton Hotel, a 320-room hotel that will house a Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites under one roof. Developed by Widewaters Group and designed by Marshall Tittemore Architects, the structure reached its final height at the end of 2015, and work on the building's exterior details has made considerable progress in the subsequent months.

The EV Hilton's signature exterior expression, taking the form of a full facade of punched windows in an irregular pattern, is now quite pronounced. Other details have also become apparent over the past few months, such as the clear glazing seen on the building's second floor.

The building's completed superstructure was constructed with a unique combination of cast-in-place concrete and structural steel elements. The lower three levels of the building have been built with poured concrete, while the upper 11 floors were built using a composite steel and precast system marketed under the name Girder-Slab®.

The completed hotel will offer amenities including an indoor pool and a 13th floor terrace offering panoramic city views. Other features on offer are a 24-hour convenience store, a 300-person event space, and a 2,700-square-foot ballroom.
