Los Angeles-based CIM Group has invested in a flurry of cities across the United States. They've had their hands full with skyline-defining projects like 432 Park Avenue in New York City and The Independent in Austin, but the Midwest is receiving its fair share of attention from the developer as well. Their latest project in Chicago is a 38-storey contemporary apartment building perched above a five-storey retail centre called Block 37.

Located at 25 West Randolph Street in the heart of The Loop — Chicago's central business district — Marquee at Block 37 offers highrise living in the form of 690 studio, convertible, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows afford dramatic views of the dense building clusters that comprise one of America's most skyscraper-friendly cities.

The building provides residents with multiple terraces boasting their own unique vantage points. The Daley Plaza Terrace includes a pool and cabana-equipped sundeck, and if gawking at Chicago's famous architecture is your thing, the State Street Terrace is the perfect platform to do so. The views get even better up on the 38th floor, where the Spa Terrace offers lounging areas to take in the panoramic scene. On the inside, residents can also enjoy the cinema, fitness centre, game room, and coffee bars.

The Solomon Cordwell Buenz-designed structure features a chevron facade which adds another layer of interest to the glassy exterior. Economic woes had pushed back development of the property for years, but with the project finally receiving cosmetic finishings to the exterior, new life is about to be pumped into the once-stagnant site.
