Situated at the point where Vancouver’s downtown core, central business district, and Gastown neighbourhood meet, construction is practically complete at 308 West Hastings, a mixed-use structure at the corner of West Hastings and Hamilton Streets that will soon serve as Simon Fraser University's new Innovation Centre and Residence.

Upon opening in May, the six-storey, Raymond Letkeman Architects-designed structure will contain 4,763 square feet of commercial space at ground level, 4,960 square feet of institutional space on the second floor, and 52 residential rental units occupying a combined 24,589 square feet on the upper three levels.

Several photos submitted to the SkyriseCities Forum by contributor mcminsen highlight the project's construction process, starting with the previous structure's demolition in early 2015 and culminating in the nearly complete project as seen at the end of March 2016.

The animated GIF above provides a brief summary of the project's construction, while the series of source photos reveal even more details about the phasing of work.
