Robert A.M. Stern Architects' architectural creations take inspiration from the vernacular context and local traditions. His work in New York City echoes the historic Art Deco and Classical behemoths that have long characterized Manhattan's dense corridors. In one of his most recent ventures, which continues his notable style, the iconic architect has envisioned a 54-storey tower with a prestigious Park Avenue address.

Developed in collaboration between real estate developers Zeckendorf RealtyPark Sixty, and Global Holdings Inc, 520 Park Avenue will feature an Indiana limestone exterior. In a testament to its luxury, only 33 residences will be included in the development. That means every suite will span at least an entire floor, with expansive ceiling heights making way for large windows. Each home will also come with a master suite, dressing rooms, and two marble-clad ensuite baths. The views of Central Park and the Upper East Side from the elegant bay windows will be naturally breathtaking. The building's triplex penthouse was listed at a whopping $130 million.

A number of grand common spaces serve as the interior amenity areas. Lounging rooms articulated by full-floor archways provide residents with a quiet nook for relaxation and conversation. The attached private garden comes equipped with green walls and decorative fountains. Residents will also have the option of taking a dip in the pool and burning calories at the fitness centre.

Stern was inspired by the architectural features of nearby buildings, particularly the base of Sherry Netherland, the slimness of The Pierre and the scale of 770 Park Avenue. Stern's interpretation of these dramatic features will be on display soon enough, as new photos indicate the project has soared above grade. A mammoth concrete slab casts a shadow on adjacent structures, signifying the beginning of 520 Park Avenue's long skyward journey.
