Hana Financial Group, one of the largest banks in Korea, is converting their old headquarters into an updated, eco-friendly building. To continue business as usual, the bank has temporarily moved its headquarters to the Gran Seoul Building in Changjindong and the building in Euljiro has been demolished to make room for a new and improved Hana Bank Headquarters. The offices will remain in Gran Seoul until 2017, the targeted completion date for the new building.

The new headquarters will take the shape of a 110-metre 26-floor office building with six levels underground and a unique symbolism attached to the sides of the building. The southern side will mimic the number one, symbolizing Hana Bank's goal of becoming the largest bank in Korea, while the eastern side of the building will be made in the shape of an anchor, representing the Bank's determination to "navigate the world" and go global.

The new building will be seven floors higher than the old building and will have two more basement floors. The new building will also be environmentally friendly, have a top floor observatory, an auditorium, books and exhibition facilities, as well as larger resting spaces for optimal employee satisfaction among other additions. This project is currently under construction.
