The first of the three-tower Wolf Point development has been realized where the north, south and main branches of the Chicago River converge. Built in a joint partnership between Hines and Magellan Development Group, the riverfront project's 46-storey frame and fresh interiors were recently toured by City Ambassador harryc

Wolf Point West accommodates 509 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment units with private terraces and inset balconies. Interiors, such as the "convertible" unit pictured below, are characterized by an open concept floor plan, large windows, quartz kitchen countertops, and wood grained flooring.

The building offers a full roster of amenities to residents, including a common room on the first level with floor-to-ceiling windows designed to maximize views of the Chicago River. Sure to be a popular spot for conversation and relaxation, the light-filled space includes a variety of comfortable seating options.

The main floor also plays host to an expansive sundeck with an outdoor pool, a club room with a golf simulator, a modern business centre, and a dog run and spa. On the top floor, a state-of-the-art fitness centre with a sauna and steamroom offers users a tremendous vantage point from which to admire the Chicago skyline.

A tastefully designed bar area anchors the Sky Lounge and a generous outdoor terrace offers a culinary experience complete with a kitchen and multiple grills. The breezy space will surely become a hotspot with residents, who will enjoy the swanky bird's-eye views of the city.

Looking east towards Lake Michigan, the densely arranged cluster of skyscrapers along the Chicago River is on display. In the image below, the iconic John Hancock Center can be seen on the left, while Merchandise Mart, once the largest building in the world, occupies the bottom left corner. This view will be lost in the near future once the next two phases of Wolf Point — which will both be taller — are completed.

Back on solid ground, Wolf Point West's slender profile is greeted with a manicured green space that elegantly steps down towards the river. From here, the full height and dark blue glazing of the bKL Architecture-designed tower presents itself.

Wolf Point West is one of three new skyscrapers rising in the immediate area. The contrasting trifecta of contemporary design is formed by Wolf Point West's rectangular shape, the curvy facade of River Point and the unorthodox cantilevered base of 150 North Riverside. All three glassy towers represent Chicago's affinity for the skyscraper, the city-defining superstructure that was birthed in the Illinois metropolis.
