The masterplanned district of HARWOOD in Dallas was born when the Rolex building was completed in 1984. Developed by Harwood International, Uptown Dallas' first office development laid the groundwork for the emerging neighbourhood, which subsequently became a magnet for premier office space, residences, and retail. The expansion of HARWOOD has continued in recent years, and the district could soon be celebrating construction of its tenth development.

Designed by HDF, 2850 Harwood would contain over 225,000 rentable square feet sheltered within a 22-storey envelope. The neighbourhood's distinct public realm would be strengthened through the provision of 9,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, plus outdoor gardens and seating. Two large voids in the floor plan allow additional room for greenery in the building itself. Over 10,000 square feet of boutique office penthouse space and two private gardens crown the structure.

In addition to the assortment of open spaces scattered throughout the tower, an on-site fitness centre is planned. A dedicated parking garage would serve the development, boasting ceiling heights of up to 18 feet. The project is expected to begin site work once a 65,000-square-foot pre-leasing target has been reached.

Office tenants will be within walking distance of several major Dallas destinations, including the American Airlines Center, The Ann & Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection, and the city's Arts District. If the forest of greenery within the project fosters an adventurous spirit, the landscaped pedestrian and bicycle paths of Katy Trail are easily accessible from HARWOOD.
