Before they were handed over to England, the Seven Islands of Bombay were 16th century Portuguese territories located just beyond India's west coast. When the Governor of Bombay relocated his official residence to the island of Parel in the 1770s, he brought a slew of industry with him. The development that followed polluted much of the island, until years of land reclamation merged the archipelago into a single mass. Since then, Parel has evolved into one of Mumbai's poshest neighbourhoods, replete with luxury hotels, condominiums, premium office space, and upscale retail.

Rubberwala Group is at the forefront of Parel's prestige with their Eon Tower project. Established in 2003, the developer is making a big impact by building a 61-storey tower on a 6,000-square-metre site. The luxury residential project will come with a generous helping of amenities, including a fitness centre, games room, cafeteria, swimming pool, and landscaped garden.

A rectangular podium anchors the tower to its address on Jerbai Wadia Road. Project renderings show that several of the amenity spaces will be positioned atop this podium. The building's porte-cochère, adjacent to planned retail units, is carved out from the base, making way for a soaring open entryway.

The tower owes its elliptical shape to its set of sweeping balconies, which are contained within a white-painted architectural frame. A circular opening in the building's crown will contain the Rubberwala Group logo. Construction of the underground levels are currently taking place, with the tower set to begin its ascent soon.
