Miami's tallest building currently under construction is already making a statement on the Miami skyline. Located at 1101 Brickell Avenue, the tower is a mixed-use development expected to cost over $800 million. Developed and designed by Florida East Coast Realty, the 822-foot building will contain 83 storeys of residential, hotel, and office space. 821 luxury apartments, 208 hotel rooms, 100,000 square feet of medically oriented office space, and 50,000 square feet of luxury retail space will be housed in the tower. As the tallest residential building on the eastern seaboard south of New York, Panorama tower will become an icon on the Miami skyline.
Construction on the building began in early 2014, and is expected to be completed and ready for tenants in 2017. The tower set a Miami record for the longest single continuous concrete pour, with 23 hours spent pouring 11,677 cubic yards of concrete. Additionally, the site broke the state record for having the largest foundation by area.
The towering white facade with blue glass and jutting terraces is common to Miami, but the list of features in the building is long. Multiple pools for various uses, an interactive water feature, fitness facilities, restaurants, and social rooms are just a few in the long list of amenities offered in the building. The tower's proximity to an interstate highway and transit stops make it convenient for both car-dependent and transit-dependent tenants.
