A new apartment tower in Chicago's South Loop neighbourhood is gearing up to welcome residents this month as crews finalize the exterior and interior details at 1333 South Wabash. The 305-unit development, courtesy of CMK Companies, stands adjacent to another building by the developer at 1345 Wabash.

The top two floors of the 28-storey project feature nine two-storey duplex penthouses from 1,466 to 2,620 square feet in size. One-, one- plus den, and two-bedroom floor plans of 668 to 1,175 square feet occupy the remaining residential space in the development. Units incorporate an unmistakably urban design, with concrete ceilings, accent walls, hardwood flooring, dark cabinetry, and quartz countertops highlighting the interiors. Residents will also enjoy stunning views from their own private balconies and floor-to-ceiling windows.

On top of the wealth of neighbourhood conveniences the South Loop offers, the building hosts a number of eco-conscious amenities to complement residents' living experiences. A 1,600-square-foot outdoor deck with chaise lounge seating, grills, and a fire pit crowns the parking garage. The fourth floor hosts a top-notch fitness centre and a demonstration kitchen and lounge area. WiFi-equipped spaces and a business centre provide quiet areas for residents to surf the web and get some work done. The development is pet friendly too — a dog walk ensures that our four-legged companions have their own dedicated exercise space.

The Brininstool+Lynch-designed building implements a similar exterior expression as the neighbouring 1345 Wabash, which is defined by clean expanses of glass elevations contrasted with protruding balconies. The walkability of the neighbourhood is perhaps its primary asset, with landmarks like Soldier Field and Shedd Aquarium a short distance away.
