In the six months since our last update on Giarratana Development's 45-storey 505 condo tower currently on the rise in central Nashville, progress has been moving along well, with the first few floors of the structure now reaching above grade. Designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz, the $169 million tower, set to become Music City's second tallest upon its completion in late 2017, will soon be home to 500 residential units along with a mix of retail and restaurant spaces at its base.

While it is still early days in terms of the tower's construction, recent photos from our Forum reveal the size and scope of the soon-to-be 543-foot tower, its bulk amid the surrounding Nashville skyline to grow taller by the day. Comprised of a mix of condo and apartment units, the glass tower will feature a rooftop amenity deck, which will almost certainly provide residents with one of the best views in the city, given the tower's height.

Featuring an almost entirely smooth glass curtain wall facade, the tower's face will be accented by a handful of slender vertical channels cut into the exterior for private balconies. At grade, the retail and restaurant spaces will meet the street with a a two-level entryway, whose airy interior will be showcased via clear glass cladding that complements the reflective glass rising above.

Once complete, 505 will become a prominent feature on the quickly-evolving Nashville skyline, the second tallest tower behind the AT&T Building. Seen in the rendering below, 505's impact on the surrounding cityscape is highly evident, the new development representative of Music City's ongoing transformation into a major urban centre.
