A triangular lot within earshot of the roaring crowds at Boston's legendary Fenway Park is becoming home to a 30-storey residential building. Located in an area that has experienced tremendous gentrification, the Samuels & Associates-developed building meets the pent-up demand for luxury condominiums in the city.

A healthy mix of residential programs — 109 condominiums and 240 rental apartments — comprise Pierce Boston's primary usage. The 104-metre (340-foot) tower will practically burst at the seams with retail, with a ground-level commercial component exceeding 20,000 square feet. The developer imagines the units will attract tech-minded young people who are living and working in a city populated with world-class universities and companies.

The project is the first in Boston for the Miami-headquartered Arquitectonica, which has expanded its impressive pedigree across national borders. The exterior expression is composed of glass and metal, accenting the project's slender frame with a contemporary envelope. Floor-to-ceiling glass gives upper-level residents clear views of the cityscape and Charles River, with glimpses of Fenway Park's iconic Green Monster and grandstand.

Residents occupying units without those same sky-high views still be able to indulge in the scenery by visiting the 30th floor amenities area, which includes a communal space and library. A dramatic rooftop deck with a swimming pool, cabanas, and fire pits crowns the slim building, while additional amenities like a fitness centre and private dining areas are featured elsewhere.

New on-location photos show that construction of the tower's floor plates has been swift. The red externally mounted tower crane is situated by the construction hoist, the backdrop formed by the skeletal structure. Cladding has not yet been applied to the tower, but given the rate of construction, that important step in the construction process should be coming soon. Residents can expect to move into their units and enjoy Pierce Boston's first-rate amenities in 2018.
