A little over three years since the historical Kelly and Ramsey building facades were dismantled and the original buildings cleared, and six months since our last look inside the tower, Edmonton’s 111-metre, 28-storey Kelly Ramsey tower — now named Enbridge Centre for its largest tenant — officially opened its doors.
City Ambassador Daveography joined local media, politicians, workers, and tenants at the building's grand opening event, which was celebrated with music, food and drink, and an opening dance number.
Speeches were delivered from developer John Day, Mayor Don Iveson, and Leon Zupan, Vice President and COO of Enbridge Liquids Pipelines, all praising the hard work, dedication, and vision of everyone involved in the design and construction of the building.
Finally, with a countdown and pop of streamers, the building was declared officially open.
Attendees were free to tour the lobby and to check out the artworks on display.
One of the building managers was kind enough to provide a bit of a tour, including some of the amenities like the bicycle parking, maintenance area, and showers, as well as a look at the views from the 23rd floor.
Much of the exterior work is now complete and pedestrian barriers have been removed, allowing close-up views of the restored historical building facades.
Retail and restaurant tenants for the ground level are expected to be publicly announced soon.
