A surface parking lot in Brisbane's Kangaroo Point neighbourhood, located just across the Brisbane River from the central business district, is the subject site for a new three-tower development that has been given the green light to proceed. City Council has approved the mixed-use project at 352-364 Vulture Street, which will do wonders to expand Brisbane's highrise density to the south.

Known simply as 'K' in reference to its local setting, the development will be comprised of residential, hotel, and retail space. Zenonos Group is the developer while Mode Design is handling the architecture, which renderings indicate will feature an irregular and funky exterior of masonry, glass and metal.

Released images also portray a skygarden, pool, and bar topping the 21-storey hotel building, which will boast 290 rooms and a convention centre. The ground plane will be similarly animated with a restaurant and craft brewery serving up suds to thirsty passersby.

The transformative project will rise kitty-corner to The Gabba, the 42,000-seat home of the Brisbane Heat and Queensland cricket teams, and the Brisbane Lions Australian Football team. The verticality of the three buildings will grant tenants with unobstructed views of this local landmark and the intensifying skyline on the other side.
