Another busy year of building in Calgary has produced new homes for residents, office space for workers, and hotel rooms for visitors. Sometimes it's hard to grasp just how much development has been completed in recent years, but our year-end poll of 2016's completed buildings will help ascertain the city's pace of change. Beginning on December 2, we'll be asking you to vote for your favourite buildings — whether residential, commercial, institutional, or mixed use — that have been added to Calgary's streetscape over the last 12 months. A number of highly anticipated projects are slated for completion in the coming years as well and we certainly don't want to overlook any of these groundbreaking developments. So, we'll also be asking you to vote for your favourite projects that are currently under construction.

But we need your expertise to help compile the list. Your local knowledge of the development scene is crucial in order for us to establish a comprehensive poll — we don't want to leave off any of your favourites! The criteria for the nomination in the 'completed buildings' poll is simple: completion must be apparent and the building must have visible occupancy, even if it is just on one floor. Any buildings between this point and the start of digging would qualify for the 'under-construction buildings' poll.

Let us know below or in the official Forum thread which projects, in your best estimation, are currently under construction or have been completed in 2016. You'll also have a chance to vote for your all-time favourite buildings, big and small, which you can also nominate.
