Described by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects as a "gleaming front door to the emerging University City neighbourhood," FMC Tower at Cira Centre South has received its namesake branding as the 49-storey tower approaches completion. The 223-metre tower will become the headquarters of the chemical manufacturing company FMC and host a grouping of units collectively called AKA University City residences.

The red-lettered signage was first installed on the north side of the Brandywine-developed skyscraper, with the south elevation receiving the logo shortly thereafter. Marketed as Philadelphia's first vertical neighbourhood, the development offers a range of amenities to limit unnecessary off-site travel. These include an aquatic centre complete with a 72-foot-long indoor pool, plus a movie theatre and golf simulator. Residents and tenants will also have access to Cira Green, a lushly landscaped park that sits atop the adjacent parking garage.

Recent photos from the site show the newly installed signage alongside the still-active tower crane. The chamfered crystalline form of the building is accentuated by reflective curtain wall glazing, which has nearly encapsulated the entire volume. The towering development completes the Cira Centre South project, which also includes the 33-storey EVO student residence complex.
