Fort Lauderdale's new tallest building is ready to make a splash in September when it officially opens its doors. Designed by Sieger Suarez Architects and backed by developers The Related Group, Rabina Properties and Perella Weinberg Partners, the 138-metre-tall luxury rental tower launched the leasing of its 272 residences on the first of June, giving prospective tenants a look at what to expect in a few months time.

The 45-storey building targets a segment of the market that desires a luxury lifestyle without the hassle and extra costs associated with property ownership. Designed to "create the most luxurious address on the Boulevard that is not for sale," Icon Las Olas capitalizes on strong rental prices by catering to individuals who are renters by choice. With one- to three-bedrooms ranging in size from 960 to 2,000 square feet, monthly rents stretch from $2,500 to $7,000.

The complex comes with all the amenities you'd expect to find in a condominium, including a fitness centre, spa, wine salon, movie room, sky terrace, and two rooftop pools. The addition of three restaurants on the site will amplify the neighbourhood's already considerable fine dining options.
