Dubai Investments is gearing up to begin construction on a 70-storey residential tower that will bring another supertall to the desert city. The $272.5 million project is expected to take root along the skyscraper-lined Sheikh Zayed Road sometime before the end of 2017.

Specific details about the currently unnamed development are scarce, though a batch of renderings serve to highlight the angular architectural expression of the building, which provides a better understanding of how the interior program will play out. Following the local trend of dramatic skyscraper crowns, the building will conclude in a double peaked roof, with the shorter segment hosting the Dubai Investments logo.

The project will occupy a site adjacent to the Al Habtoor and Aykon developments, which resemble self-contained cities more than individual complexes. When completed in 2020, the building will join an ever-growing catalogue of Dubai residential towers boasting in excess of 70 floors, many of which are located in the dense Dubai Marina, including the 101-floor Princess Tower, which held the record for the world's tallest residential tower until the completion of 432 Park Avenue.
