The second phase in the 28-storey pair of towers known as YUL Condominiums has begun construction in Montreal. The project is being co-developed by the Brivia Group and the Tianco Group at 1400 René-Lévesque Boulevard West, and the second building is kicking off work amid the finalization of construction on the first tower.
"The construction of our second tower is a major milestone in our project and we are proud that coincides with the festivities marking the 375th anniversary of Montréal," said Kheng Ly, President and CEO of Brivia Group and YUL Condominiums. "While changing the face of downtown, its construction will help revitalize the neighbourhood and position YUL as one of the most prestigious addresses in Montréal."
Tianco Group is an offshoot of China's Gansu Tianqing Real Estate Group. The project has been designed by Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux, in collaboration with Stefano Domenici Architect, who have collectively imagined a profile of blocks sequentially pushed forward and pulled back.
Residents living in the second tower will enter through a two-storey glazed entrance hall. A lounge and terrace on the sixth floor overlooks a 23,000-square-foot private garden. As for interior amenities, the building will feature an indoor pool, several multi-purpose rooms, and a fitness centre.
YUL 2 began its marketing push in March 2017 and is expected to be delivered in 2020. Over 800 units, including studios and 17 townhouses, are contained across the two highrises. The first tower welcomed its first round of residents in September.
