A proposal for a pair of towers connected by multiple skybridges has been mothballed and replaced by a new scheme slated to become Miami's tallest building. The proposal by New York-based Property Markets Group and Toronto-based Greybrook Realty Partners is now getting much more serious, with a teaser website launched and a batch of renderings highlighting the striking architectural expression of the project.

At 317 metres tall, 300 Biscayne would easily succeed the 265-metre Panorama Tower as the city's skyscraper king. A blurb on the marketing website also cites the project as the tallest residential tower south of New York. It is expected to include a five-star hotel brand, over 500 residences, and the "second wellness-focused spa of its kind."

The renderings that have been released show a towering series of stacked cubes wrapped in a fully glazed envelope accented by diagonal streaks. The artistic drawings also portray how the building would look in the context of the skyline, which appears relatively petite in contrast to the supertall development.

A 20,000-square-foot "high-tech" sales centre is under construction and expected to open shortly. Health and wellness guru Deepak Chopra is overseeing the development.
