City Square is an elevated site overlooking fork of the Thames River and where London’s first major structure, the courthouse, was erected in 1826 in what has become known as the Forest City.
Almost 200 years later the courthouse still standing has been incorporated into a 10 acre development site fronted by a planned ‘back to the river’ park all overlooking the Thames River.
As a ‘concept’ for what could become the re-centering of London’s founding site, would be a mixed use development that would consist of commercial offices, retail, food services, apartments and condominiums with expansive public square and amenities that would segue into a redeveloped park with walkways, suspension bridge, cafes and restaurants at the water’s edge.
The development concept anticipated two residential towers of 40 and 50 storeys comprising 800 units sitting on a 4 and 5-storey commercial podium of 167,000 sq. ft. with grade level retail and personal service space of 30,000 sq. ft.
