What the heck is going on with that podium design. Bike storage on the fifth floor? Also, 382 sq ft of retail, really??

There's another level of retail on B1 - the 382sf looks just to be a lobby to get down to the main space

Awful - and long with the proposed 31A Parliament - it's cramming.

The proportions are really weird. The podium looks like it was made in Minecraft, and the staggered crown feature just looks awkward. Not enough transitional floors for such a dramatic overhang. I like how skinny it is but it's a clunker.

I am guessing there will be a phase 2 directly north of this. Google maps has a Cityzen logo on the Krown site at 33 Parliament.

ETA: Is this a new version of 31A Parliament St?

Bike parking that high is regrettable. I wonder if the excessive amount of parking (and that lower level commercial space) means they will be looking for paid public parking in the building?

usuallly when there is above ground parking it is for public purposes - I believe the zoning by-law doesn't permit above ground parking unless it's public.
