There was a late 19th Century writer named Guy de Maupassant. He supposedly ate lunch in the Eiffel Tower's restaurant every day because it was the one place in Paris where the tower was not visible.
Not surprised. Eiffel Tower was considered a monstrosity when it was built for the 1889 Expo. With more skyscrapers appearing in the 20th century (such as the Tour Montparnasse), it became a landmark and icon. Perhaps Canada House can draw comfort from this? ;)
 
This does look bad from renderings or at least boring but if they actually put effort on the exterior materials and details, it might turn out okay. Not putting money on it though.
