No activity for some time.

Fence breached from alley.

While it has been slow, there is now some visible progress on the replacement building at 369 Queen Street - twelve years after the fire. First photo is from the Queen Street side - all that is really visible is a horizontal steel girder assembly above he hoarding. From the back alley, construction work under way.

The fact that it has taken over 12 years to get the start of a rebuild on a site in downtown Toronto raises the question of whether the City needs to increase the taxes on vacant land. I realise that sometimes a landowner does not have the $$ to rebuild and/or is waiting to be bought out as part of a land assembly by a richer group but it really does seem poor that sites like this (small though it is) remain unused for over a decade.
