On SSP they are saying that a deal has been reached with the city to move forward with this. It is on the Hamilton Spectator site.

This project is quite unique. It reminds me a lot of the types of new districts being constructed in many German cities, such as on formal industrial lands. I am excited to see this project come through

You are probably right. But the important thing is that the ownership is changing. As well, isn’t part of the property already being used for filming?

5+ years just for the environmental assessment? Yeah i'm not hopeful this even happens frankly.

I'd give it a solid Hamilton 60% chance. Which is a non-Hamilton 5%. Hamilton loves to fail. The Connolly church will collapse and City Centre will be bankrupt halfway through construction, and this will sit an eventually become a sad asphalt park.
