DP for a new development in East Village being called "Lyric". Developer is Ayrshire, architect is Metafor. Being this close to the riverfront, setbacks apply so this was inevitably going to be 6 storeys.

Encouraging to see a few applications in East Village, as well as Trico's project just on the other side of the DI. With the state of East Village right now, it'll be a big win to get any of these under construction IMO.

Looks pretty decent. Any of those units commercial? I know it's not the right circumstance in that neighborhood right now, but talk about a great potential setting for some coffee shops/restaurants/patios etc. along Riverfront Lane/Ave.

Was there a groundbreaking ceremony for the site? I can’t find anything anywhere, but I remember there being a groundbreaking ceremony for one of the East Village projects.

Not much happening here at site, but the sale center is long closed up.

Yeah, I can see why they didn't...but a shame long term if things ever get better in the neighborhood. But you do bring up a good point, selling a main floor residential unit may be just as challenging.
As far as am aware lyric is a rental.
EV 606 was originally condos, got zero traction so had to pivot to rentals also.
Selling units now would be tough in EV. Nice part of the city but has alot of issues to resolve.
