Philadelphia's 30th Street Station.
Philadelphia's 30th Street Station is the heart of the region's transportation network and is Philly's primary Amtrak station. It features an art deco motif.
Our first night on the town (much like every other night) was in the Washington Square District of Philadelphia's Center City. It is also home to the region's gaybourhood.
Off the main streets are some of the skinniest and oldest streets in the United States.
This was shot from our hotel window. It is of the William Penn statue that sits high above Philly atop their City Hall.

On the fringe of the business district is a beautiful, but abandoned building that appears to have once housed a gay men's bathhouse known as "The Bellevue Health Club"...

Pop artist Robert Indiana's famous "LOVE" sculpture sits in Philly's JFK Plaza (or what has become better known "Love Plaza.")...
Across from JFK Plaza sits the former Penn Railroad Suburban Station.
The Holocaust Memorial on Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
These simple, yet elegant, bars/cafes that sit in public squares and parks are very common in Europe (and perhaps this part of the US too) and have always striked me as something very much missing in Toronto.

The newest, tallest and some, like me, would argue the crown jewel of Philly's skyline is the recently completed Comcast Center.
The Comcast Center is the tallest building in America between New York City and Chicago and is home to the Comcast cable company.
The Comcast Center is a Robert Stern building and was completed just last year (2008).

Inside the Comcast Center's lobby is Jonathan Borofsky's "Humanity in Motion" which is quite similar to his installation at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas.

The other major art piece in the lobby of the Comcast Center is the LED-based "Comcast Experience" installation.

Next to the Philadelphia Museum of Art sits a statue which probably doesn't need an explanation. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is the location of Rocky's famous climb of the steps and his little dance at the top.
TD was sponsoring a major marathon that weekend in Philly and were decking out the Rocky stairs with the "Toronto Dominion" logo.
