I'm unsure about exterior lighting, but as this will house student studio space 80% of the interior lights (including the 'bunny ears' over the heritage facade) will be on 24/7 from September-May.

There will be a soft opening of the building in about two weeks for the graduate studio reviews. These are generally open to the public, but not all of the building may be accessible as there is still a lot of interior work to be done. The 'money shot' view down Spadina from the upper floors is...

    Toronto Toronto | Lawrence Heights Revitalization | ?m | ?s | Context Development | KPMB

A little piece of information about revitalization projects like this - it takes roughly 10 market units to cover one subsidized unit (according to an architect associated with this project). Given the rate of construction, this project will finish in 2019. Wouldn't be surprised if there's mould problems due to the exposed lumber.

Sandwich boards went up in the neighbourhood this weekend. The project is going by the title "Design Haus". The design competition on their website (www.mydesignhaus.ca) has a new rendering that seems to keep the corner heritage building.

Updated drawings were released to students and faculty this week. http://www.scribd.com/doc/212559439/One-Spadina-Drawings Occupation of P1+2 is expected during the 2015/16 academic year (or so they say).

Renders are fantasy masquerading as reality IMO. Both (models and renders) have their strengths, but if the design is still in flux why commit resources? Models are much more useful to the architect and his/her design process. I'm not expecting any new renders until the project receives approval...
