    Submission 16: O.R.E. - "The Braided Strands"

Have a look at comment #17 and 18 I said the same thing and the reply is really fun! I'm sure this design will win this contest as it is well considered and beautifully rendered. I'm also dubious that it will be built. Have a look at my cheap and cheerful #2 offering! m

Hi, I'm e-mailing you because you appear as a senior member. I suggest there be a gathering of designers and other people interested in this charette. It may be fun to meet face to face somewhere with the models available and perhaps some builders M

    Submission 16: O.R.E. - "The Braided Strands"

Remember the $10M? Well, you do think big! I want the CN tower shifted a bit to the left if you can work that in. It is a gorgeous drawing though, maybe the budget will have to grow!

    Submission 3: Andrew Alfred-Duggan - cable-stayed "fists"

I'm fussy I love this idea, It's kooky and it works. I'm not sure you have space for the support on the north side. You're in my top 4.

Submission 13: Andrew Moore - "Skyspan"

Oh! Oh!, I know... ...make the center support look like the CN tower in profile, sending out rays down over the city! The rail people ought to like that image!

Submission 2: Martin Cooper - box truss as "cycle" sculpture

Fair enough. The other design I sketched for the modified truss showing trucks and cars stuck in gridlock while the actual people and bikes move through the bridge. It's shown just below the text. It was way too hard to draw though so for the sake of getting a 3D rendering together I worked...

Submission 10: Addison & Al Nasser - truss bridge as "park"

Wtf? I believe in free-thinking but free-floating is too much of a stretch for me.

Submission 2: Martin Cooper - box truss as "cycle" sculpture

Dumb means non-speaking. As you didn't speak about why it was a "dumb" It seems to me turnabout would be fair play here.

Submission 9: Peter Bowyer - "Worm"

Worm? Why'd you call it "Worm"? It's not a bit like a worm though I do like it. I feel you could amp up the optical effects if it had squeezed squares in other places than the ends. Not just one stretched area through the middle, more like compression waves over the whole length. Good luck. M

    Submission 16: O.R.E. - "The Braided Strands"

If only... If only this was placed over a river or the harbour I'd believe that people would hang out there and busk and whatnot. I have trouble imagining the diesel exhaust filled environment being as attractive as pictured here. Nice job though, pretty, well thought out and build-able!

Submission 14: InfrastructureStudio - "Weaving the Gap"

Wow, but... This would be great. It sure would be pretty. I'm seeing it as 1.5 m below the specified clearance and the entrance on Front ST is built out on fill that the railway is going to protest. I hope I'm wrong about these things. M

Submission 13: Andrew Moore - "Skyspan"

No Ramps Lots of submissions have no entrance ramps to deal with the need to have the bridge high enough above the tracks. This is one. Nevertheless, I quite like this concept, It looks like it would stay up if built and answers the outcry for cable suspension. I think someone should pay you to...

Submission 11: Cassius Adams - "Water & Ice" - glass wave bridge

Fun with 3D drawing programs Hi, as pretty as the drawing and the concept is there is no structure to this bridge, no supporting post as you say but also no structural elements to form the upper span of a truss. This needs a serious reality check.

Submission 12: Mackenzie Keast - arch bridge "promenade"

No Bikes? I love the european atmosphere that your design conveys. My comment is that I don't see it as being very bike friendly as drawn here. You'll need some ramps, big ones to get it high enough to clear the trains. Very well done nonetheless. Martincan

Submission 2: Martin Cooper - box truss as "cycle" sculpture

Yay! Thanks for your response. I have had very few comments about my ideas and I think I need to draw them better. The transportation mish-mash IS the point. The actual people walking through the bridge and cycles are the only thing that move. It's a bit of conceptual art. I'm glad the you...
