    Blatchford

I'm most curious about how they're planning to interface with the park.

Difficult for who? Adding loading zones on the intersecting streets wouldn't add any significant time, and the trade-off would be a significantly better pedestrian experience. Just think of what you can do with a space that large. Restaurants can have patios, there can be nice planters and...

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

But the metro line doesn't go further north than Nait and won't for a long time, and when it does it won't serve the same areas as this BRT line. So if anything, having the two lines share a few blocks is actually way better for connectivity.

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Edmonton

Directness is good, but directly connecting to major destinations like option 3 would likely drive more ridership.

Can use all the other streets connecting to the main street for those things.

That angle parking takes up a criminal amount of space. Make those two blocks of main street into pedestrian only and this complex could be a truly fantastic community and destination. I also really like the proposed pedway link directly to the transit station. Overall great but that main street...

Safety and rescue operations wouldn't be what prevents this from being greenlit (there's lot of other gondola systems to learn from, ie london literally pictured above), so your question is honestly irrelevant.

Yeah I'm hopeful for it, but I'd just rather it be part of ETS instead of private, as it would likely become essential transportation infrastructure between Whyte and Downtown. I'd use it often instead of taking the bus.

    Commuter & Regional Rail

Ideally, but as a layman it seems exceedingly difficult to get that rail past 104th ave, let alone to a combined station at govt centre. Maybe I'm not creative enough!

    Commuter & Regional Rail

In my mind, best case scenario is 350kmph HSR Edm-YEG-Red Deer-YYC-Cal with an express route downtown to downtown and having the LRT connector to YEG/YYC (constructed on their own time). If the lines can be built to allow regional (slower) commuter trains as well that would be stellar...

    Commuter & Regional Rail

Isn't one of the advantages of rail is the ability to link downtown to downtown? Strathcona isn't a transport hub, but downtown is.

Its just kinda weird that in order to increase the parks budget, you'd prefer to take money away from the small amount going to cycling paths than the large amount going to roads. Seems like you're focused on making things worse for cycling rather than making anything else better.

Wait is that what they did with the food hall? I've been meaning to go but just haven't gotten the chance yet, and when the food hall was on 105 st downtown what you're saying is exactly what it was. A bunch of emerging restaurants in separate kitchens prepping different types of food. Weird...

    O-day’min Park (formerly Warehouse Park)

I didn't notice before, but I really hope the plan isn't to allow cars through that gap in the parks building. I get the need for alley access for the buildings but that passageway to 108th st should only be for pedestrians.
