Toronto Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport | ?m | ?s | Ports Toronto | Arup

Close the island airport, convert the land to public space with a pedestrian bridge to the mainland, and invest the money that would have gone into runway upgrades into Hamilton International with the long term goal of turning it into the region's true secondary airport i.e. the GTA's Gatwick.

    Ottawa Transit Developments

I still don't understand why the airport spur has to be separate from line 2 instead of interlining like Vancouver does.

Roads: Gardiner Expressway catch-all, incl. Hybrid Design (2015-onwards)

Basically what Toronto did with Queens Quay

“We want to make sure we offer dependable service from Day One — that means it doesn’t break down and it serves customers the way we want to serve them,” Andlauer said. Wonder if this is a dig at Ottawa's LRT.

GO Transit: Service thread (including extensions)

Curious if this involves construction of a parallel track and/or sidings, negotiation of more frequent passenger train service slots with CP, or a combination of both.

    Toronto Toronto | Union Station Revitalization | ?m | ?s | City of Toronto | NORR

Aisle 24 had a location in the condo complex I lived in a few years ago. Access there was controlled via a phone app linked to a verified user profile so I assume it's the same with their public locations.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

And while we're on the West Harbour topic - I'm not sure why Metrolinx didn't just buy back the old James St station from LIUNA and refurbish it. Guessing cost was a factor.

GO Transit: Construction Projects (Metrolinx, various)

I understand why two way all day/through service to Hamilton has to be on the CN mainline, but man I wish there was some (realistic) way to move it to Hamilton Centre. That building just has far more history and character than the couple of elevators bolted to a bridge feel of West Harbour...

    VIA Rail

Yeah they have headlines like SCARBOROUGH TO SEPARATE FROM TORONTO and the article is just quoting some frustrated commuter who thinks it might be a good idea.

    Metrolinx: Presto Fare Card

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try out the Apple Pay feature on a GO Train trip from Bronte to Union. At Bronte I tapped my iPhone against the Presto card reader; my phone gave the usual beep sound and displayed a checkmark to show that the transaction via Apple Pay was successful, however I...

    Montréal Transit Developments

I thought the REM De l'Est was dead? Or at least truncated to avoid the downtown section.

    Mississauga Toronto | Hurontario-Main Line 10 LRT | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

Mississauga has fully adopted the Los Angeles strategy of "let's put our dowtown core nowhere near the waterfront for some reason".

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

Yeah the Vancouver design would be overkill for the Don River span for sure. The Rio example is a little closer to what I was hoping for.

    Toronto Toronto | Ontario Line 3 | ?m | ?s

When I hear "architecturally stunning subway bridge" I picture something more like this: Or closer to home, even this:

Toronto Toronto | GO Transit: Davenport Diamond Grade Separation | ?m | ?s | Metrolinx

This is why it's so frustrating to see people like Jennifer Keesmaat stoking fears about how elevated rapid transit would destroy Toronto's streetlife. Modern elevated guideways are nothing like the rusting iron behemoths in places like Chicago and Brooklyn.
