Jasonzed - Jason Zytynsky Tribute and Photography Award

Very sad news. I always enjoyed his contributions to this site. A very talented person. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Churchill Meadows Community Centre (City of Mississauga, 1s, MJMA)

I'm bothered by the name of this CC/park. There's already an existing Churchill Meadows Community Common Park, and a Churchill Meadows Library (which probably should've been moved to this new facility). Does no one think it will be confusing opening a Churchill Meadows Park and Churchill Meadows...

While not directly in the MCC, there is plans for a "Cooksville" community centre in the Hurontario/Dundas area. It will likely be part of a redevelopment of the TL Kennedy site. Aside from that, I doubt we will see another community centre built in the area any time soon, as that area is well...

Someone earlier suggested this is geothermal (all of the black flexible piping). Any more info on this? Doesn't make sense to me seeing as there's still a huge amount of excavation to take place in this area. Really curious about this.

This is phenomenal news for the downtown core (regardless of whether Roche is moving here or not). Hopefully this is the first of many office towers.

Correct. The site restoration work is entirely unrelated to the Exchange District project. The Region of Peel's Burnhamthorpe Water Project is slowly wrapping up, and contractors are required to restore the site to original condition (asphalt paving, sidewalk, curb & gutter, sod replacement).

You're saying 201 will be demolished as well? I was under the impression the City had just extended (or was in the process of extending) their lease.

Can anyone comment on the drilling work going on in the last photo? What are the black, blue and red containers? You cant see in these photos but there's several black pipes sticking out of the ground in the locations they've drilled (probably the black pipe in the rolls along the fence)...

A few months ago the YMCA parking lot was listed for sale by CBRE on behalf of YMCA, unsure if it sold. I remember seeing a photo which showed a future public road where the current parking lot driveway access is. Property to be severed at time of sale, existing YMCA building site is not part of...

Except the majority of the mall has seen significant improvements to both the finishes and the mechanical aspects, to a much greater extent than Walmart. In fact most "big box" stores are built with the intentions of lasting only 20-30 years. I realize this particular Walmart may be a different...

This alone would be a major improvement to the area and significantly improve the pedestrian and vehicular flow of the area. Considering the age of the current Walmart building, it is likely well past its projected useful lifespan despite the recent interior renovations. Walmart also seems to...

I work in this area, there are workers on site nearly every day, but work has progressed extremely slowly.
