If something like this were the plan, we could have a whole little cantilevered neighbourhood.
Given most surface lots (strictly) are developed in Toronto's most in-demand downtown areas, I suspect a lot more cantilevered planning, similar to 96 Spadina next door.

May be when its built details might be good but right now it looks decent, nothing fancy.
