The adjoining property to the north is the complete renewal of Skyway Community and Park Centre.Having played hockey there more than a few times, this complete tear down and redo was well deserved. And gaining in importance with the ongoing application for Lakeside Plaza.

I did not see a thread for this project so I downloaded a couple of photos here On the Lakeside thread.

Skyway Community Centre and Park: a community centre, sports facility and public space development designed by Lennox Architects for the City of Burlington on the east side of Kenwood Avenue, north of Lakeshore Road and south of Bromley Road in Burlington's Elizabeth Gardens neighbourhood.

This is certainly going to be much nicer and more community orientated than the concrete block arena I played hockey in over the years. And once the redevelopment of the Lakeshore Plaza to the immediate south gets moving, it will most likely be over booked for various uses.

This is moving along pretty quick now. Seems well on track to be open by the start of the next hockey season!

Southwest corner looking east:

same corner looking north across the front (technically the side but it's the wall that faces the road):

now at the northwest corner looking east, up what will be the driveway and towards the main entrance/dropoff

The presence of this building is going to be spectacular once it's all planted up and ready to go. The roofline along the road is quite unassuming but the very slight change in angle keeps it interesting. The main entrance however, already seems to draw you in with the high extended roofline. There's a very clear, welcoming entrance without the building being too imposing on the local environment.

Lastly, a few more steps north, the baseball field fencing supports are all up. This 40-ish foot fence/net goes all the way around the perimeter which is quite intrusive but necessary as the entire outfield is very close to homes

This is looking good and will be well needed, especially if they ever get that project to the south off the ground (so to speak). The resident seniors population in the area (and there are a lot of them in the various mutli story buildings along the Lakeshore) are also looking forward to completion and the introduction of programming within the complex.

For sure! I was happy to see the majority of the space utilized for community rooms rather than a second ice pad (although they could build 10 more pads in Burlington and there still wouldn't be enough)

You are correct with the ice pads. Easily 10, plus a couple of dozen pickleball courts, some ball hockey facilities, a few half court basketball setups. Possibly an expansion to the lawn bowling and curling facilities, a couple of good bocce courts (espresso and wine bar close at hand please), a little outdoor chess.....
