Is that a new bridge just west of the Bush Shed?
Yeah there are proposals for 2 new bridges on either side of the station.

The Yonge Bridge is a fantastic idea that would bring station access directly to Yonge Street and all the stuff around it.
I’m not too sure why there’s also a bridge planned over York, unlike Yonge there already is direct access to York and the skywalk via the teamways.

What's the bridge over Bay Street connecting to? Is it like any other PATH connection that links offices to Union Station or is it intended to provide a more direct access to the bus terminal from the station? Does anyone have blueprints of that second floor?

Would commuters walk from the Great Hall to this skybridge over Bay St. to CIBC, then go down escalators to ground level into CIBC's teamway, then back up another set of escalators to the bus terminal?

It is to connect the two CIBC towers to Union Station and Scotia Bank Arena.

This is what the bridge level of the complex looks like:

Yes someone coming from the Great Hall intending to go to the second level of the bus terminal would need to go down and up 2 escalators. But keep in mind thats less than today’s route via the Scotiabank Arena, which would require 3 to 4 escalators.

Thanks, that clarifies it quite well. Honestly, maybe I look like a local or I'm aware of people's confusion that I look receptive to directions but any time I'm around the station people ask me how to get to the bus terminal. More than a few times I gave up trying to explain how to get to Scotiabank arena that I just walk them there.
This looks like a more direct route. "Cross the bridge, go down the escalator and walk down the hall to the bus terminal". I'm sure signage will be helpful once they're in the teamway.

For the proposed bridge W of the station, it could be to provide access to different platforms for UP Express passengers from the existing UPX "terminal".

It's been suggested that the UPX platform will have to move S from its current location (on the N edge of the corridor) so UPX train paths don't cross tracks hosting the Barrie and Kitchener trains when train frequencies dramatically increase. We don't have any details other than the sources WillyBru21 mentions in his diagram above but it's a possible explanation.

Trains to Pearson will eventually be moved inside the main station, the current UP terminal has its days numbered. (Definitely not saying it’ll happen soon, but it will eventually happen)

Oh no. I was admiring that station just yesterday. It's honestly an excellent experience to get from Union to YYZ and to welcome travellers to Toronto. Having to find a platform in the middle of all the others and miss out on that lounge is going to decidedly diminish the experience.
