Wow, I remember when you used to look DOWN on The One. Now you have to stretch your neck to see the top.

Something is definitely happening in the base. A lot of activity going through the front door today.

Resharing @Johnny Au 's picture which is far better than mine to demonstrate how they've built a path and hoarding around the base with a doorway to haul materials into the space:

Given that there's been no news of a tenant and Tridel only just finalized taking over the project, I don't think it's a retail tenant outfitting the space, it's likely Tridel finishing it up themselves to stage it to find a tenant.

Question: Is this circled area the intended hotel lobby and event space?

Now without a retail tenant and a hotel partner, I wonder if they can get creative with the base. Flexibility in the use of the retail space and the hotel block (if that's indeed what it is) could attract better bids for either or both.

A pair of escalators from the vaulted space into that south block like the Sheraton Centre, then a restaurant/bar with live music like Shangri-la and other hotel lobby activities at street level would be a nice use of the space. If the Sheraton and Shangr-la can make it work at prime locations, then why wouldn't The One?

Level 5 of the tower is the hotel lobby, level 6 is the residential lobby, with access to the outdoor amenity space.

I think it's supposed to be (along with the same floors in the tower footprint) conference/event space and restaurants. There's a bit of detail here:

Yes, Wilson Hall is one of the New College residences. That being said, I will have to say goodbye to my current view in about two weeks as Wilson Hall is essentially being used as a hostel for the summer. As a result, I probably will have to photograph my view more frequently before I move to summer residence.

I miss those days! They were pouring in jer1961's photos from Friday, my guess is that was the slab for 82. They were delivering the rebar for the mega columns in Benito's monday post.
